Grim Reaper Razor Tip Blade Review

Grim Reaper Razor Tip Review

These broadheads are some of the most popular on the market and hunters rave about their penetration abilities, some saying the Razor Tips are unparalleled in this field.

The Grim Reaper Whitetail Special is a mechanical broadhead and offers a great low profile design that makes for unsurpassed speed and accuracy. When reviewed, most customers said that these shot better than their field tips in practice sessions.

Grim Reaper Razorcut Angle Review

It has an extra wide cutting diameter which combined with its three-blade spread, leaves a nasty entry and exits wounds. Your deer will be easy to track through even the muckiest environments, where traditional blood tracking would be almost impossible.

The stopping power of the Grim Reaper is incredible, and many targets can drop on site with the right shot. This means less walking and tracking, as well as giving the animal a clean and humane kill.

When you put accuracy, durability, and the proven performance into a broadhead, the result is the Grim Reaper Razor Tip lineup.

Pros

The Grim Reaper Razortip broadhead has a whole host of wonderful features. First off, let us discuss it's triple blade design.

Not only do the three blades look like the actual grim reaper’s scythe of doom, but they have the same deadly effect. This is a mechanical broadhead, and as soon as the tip penetrates upon impact, the three blades snap out in a triangular pattern wreaking devastation on its unlucky target.

The entry and exit wounds created by this arrowhead are like no other I've seen. If you want an easy hunt and despise long walks through the swamp unsure of whether you're tracking mucky water or actual blood these broadheads are a great step towards that purpose.

Speaking of the blades, the Grim Reaper Razortip uses high grade 440 stainless steel blades which are some of the most durable on the market. They're practically shatterproof. So that's pretty useful when your arrow makes direct contact with the hardened shoulder of a mountain buck, or the actual mountainside if you miss.

Oh, and lest I forget, one of my favorite little details. The mini cutting blades forged into the tip itself. This feature is truly unique and sets these Grim Reapers apart from any other broadhead I've seen. If you look closely at the point, you'll see two small fingernail-sized razors flaring out just past the penetrating point. It's this type of attention to detail that makes these broadheads special.

Speaking of special, it also happens that these are a special edition model of the Razortip lineup. They were designed and manufactured for one sole purpose- taking down trophy whitetail bucks. That is not to say that it won't work just as well against a wide array of different targets, but usually, when something is specifically created for one purpose, it speaks well of the results that will ensue.

Cons

The cons lie mainly in certain drawbacks of the pros. For example, I love the triple blade design, but when it comes to sharpening or replacing blades, that's one extra blade per broadhead to maintain. No biggie, but it's worth mentioning. Since these blades are made of incredibly durable stainless steel, however, you will be servicing these blades far less than lower quality blades anyways.

Also worth mentioning is the mini tip blades. While they're a great feature, it also makes picking the broadhead up with your bare hands a lot more dangerous. There's no safe way to handle these without protective gloves or a pair of pliers.

Public Opinion

When making any decision, it's always a good idea to keep public opinion in mind. The overwhelming praise of these Grim Reapers is their ability to kill from a long distance, and their sheer stopping power. A lot of the people questioned had received a couple as a gift from a buddy, and have sworn by little else since picking these up.

Another great feature is that replacement blades and parts are readily available and easy to find. Every archer makes mistakes whether it be in practice or a hunt, and outright replacing a head every time it breaks can be expensive.

Conclusion

This brings us to the conclusion of the Grim Reaper Razor Tip Broadhead Review. Hopefully, it gives you some good information to consider before selecting a new broadhead for your arsenal.

Keep in mind that this quality does not come cheap, but the product you are getting in return, is the result of both mindful and creative engineering. There's not a single aspect of this broadhead that was explicitly planned out to make it a top-tier competitor.

There are a lot of great products out there, but Grim Reapers Razor Tip lineup shines.  I recommend Grim Reaper broadheads to every hunter that I know and believe they are worth every extra dollar and have not once let me down.
