Carbon Express Maxima Review
The Carbon Express Maxima line uses a Tri-Spine build (stiff on the ends, flexible in the middle) that recovers off the string faster than a straight walled shaft. The current Maxima Sable RZ is the flagship. Match Grade straightness at +/- .0025 puts it in the same category as an Axis 5mm.

What Tri-Spine actually does
The middle 60 percent of the shaft flexes more than the ends. Under launch stress the arrow bends there, then straightens through the ends. In practical terms it means the shaft recovers about 20 percent faster from paradox than a uniformly stiff carbon of the same static spine. That helps a fixed blade fly cleaner off a not-perfectly-tuned rest.
Common complaints
The LaunchPad nock takes some getting used to; it seats deeper than a standard press-fit and can pinch if the D loop is set wrong. Vane bonding is more sensitive because the RZ camo finish is textured. Wipe with denatured alcohol and use AAE Max Bond or Bohning Platinum for a durable bond.
