Gold Tip Hunting Arrows

Gold Tip Hunting Arrows

Gold Tip is the value leader that grew up. Owned by Bee Stinger’s parent (Vista Outdoor), the brand runs a full lineup from the sub-$70 base Hunter to the premium Kinetic Kaos and the speed-tuned Airstrike. If you can only afford one hunting arrow, the Hunter XT is on almost every short list.

Flagship hunting shafts

  • Gold Tip Hunter XT: workhorse standard diameter, 9.3 GPI at 340, +/- .003 straightness.
  • Gold Tip Kinetic Kaos: heavy penetration build, 12.1 GPI at 300.
  • Gold Tip Airstrike: speed hunting shaft, 8.2 GPI at 340.
  • Gold Tip Pierce Platinum: premium micro-diameter, +/- .0025 straightness.

Component ecosystem

Gold Tip uses standard 246 press-fit components. Aluminum Accu-Lite inserts weigh 9 grains, brass GT inserts weigh 50 grains, and the aftermarket universe (Iron Will, Ethics) all make Gold Tip compatible parts. Nock system is the Gold Tip Uni-Bushing, which uses a bonded bushing plus a swappable nock.

Honest strengths

Best price-to-performance at every tier. Nock rotation is genuinely repeatable; the Uni-Bushing system holds indexed after 500 shots. Colored shaft options (blue, red, RZ camo) make broken arrow identification easier during shed hunt recovery in fall grass. Warranty is aggressive and Gold Tip replaces damaged shafts fast.

Honest weaknesses

Straightness tolerance at the base Hunter (+/- .006) is looser than same-price competitors. Weight sort at all tiers below Pierce is +/- 2 grains, versus Easton Axis Match Grade’s +/- 0.5. For most bowhunters that gap does not matter; for 60 yard elk shooters it does.
